Sports Premium Money

The Sports Premium Grant is government funding given to schools to help improve the quality of Physical Education (PE), Sport, and Physical Activity. At West Leigh Infant School, we use this funding to make sure our offer is exceptional with our vision being for every child to leave the school being physically literate with the knowledge, skills, confidence and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport. We also want our children to be inspired by their experiences of PE and Sport in the Infant School,  nurturing a life-long love of being active.

At West Leigh Infants, the Sports Premium Grant has enabled us to:

  • Provide extra PE lessons and active play sessions

  • Offer a broader variety of sports and after-school clubs

  • Bring in specialist coaches to support staff confidence and development

  • Buy new equipment for PE and playtime

  • Provide high quality training/team teaching for our teaching staff to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons

From the academic school year, schools must comply with and complete the online reporting tool, which records how the grant is spent and tracks it's outcomes. West Leigh Infant School has completed this tool, a summary of which can be found below:
